FINANCIAL POLICIES

The cornerstone of the financial policy of our practice is that each patient, parent or guardian accepts the responsibility for full payment of all services that are provided to you or your child regardless of your type of health insurance coverage. Although we are participating providers with some of the commercial insurance companies it is the responsibility of each patient, parent or guardian to be familiar with all the provisions of your health insurance plan. Touchstone Health Associates does not assume any responsibility to know the terms of coverage of your personal health insurance plan nor will we attempt to interpret your plan coverage for you. If you are not familiar with your plan coverage we suggest that you contact the customer service department at your insurance company or contact your human resources director at your employer. If your health insurance plan denies payment for services that we have provided to you for any reason then we will expect you to pay for those services, in full, within thirty (30) days of receipt of the denial.

At this time Touchstone Health Associates participates in the following plans:

• Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina
• Wellpath
• Medcost
• Aetna
• Cigna
• United Health Care

If you are a member of one of these plans you will be expected to pay your co-payment at the time of service and we will bill your insurance company for the balance.

If you are insured by any other commercial insurance company you will be expected to pay for all services provided to you, in full, on the day of the visit. We will then send a claim to your insurance company who should reimburse you based on the terms of your health insurance plan with them.

The physicians of Touchstone Health Associates do not participate in the MEDICARE program. We will, however, see patients that are insured by Medicare Part B but you will be required to sign a private agreement that is required by the Federal Government wherein you assume the responsibility for full payment for our services.

At this time Touchstone Health Associates has not been approved as a MEDICAID site. Therefore we are not able to accept Medicaid patients at this time.
